NEKROGOBLIKON, the cult phenomenon that brought you the viral madness of "No One Survives," is dropping a scorching new EP, The Boiling Sea, on April 17th. But here's where it gets controversial: this time, they're shaking things up with a dual-vocal assault that blends soaring melodies with throat-shredding brutality. Think you can handle it?
Today, they've unleashed the music video for "The Secret Elephant," a wild collaboration with REEL BIG FISH. Directed by Brandon Dermer, it's a hilarious and headbanging spectacle you won't want to miss. And this is the part most people miss: former mascot-turned-frontman John Goblikon, also the beloved host of the comedy podcast "Right Now," is stepping fully into the spotlight alongside extreme metal powerhouse Dickie Allen (INFANT ANNIHILATOR).
John, in his signature whimsical style, muses about the song's meaning: "Secrets don't make friends... unless it's a secret elephant you befriend. And while elephants never forget, goblins definitely do – I literally can't remember where I put my phone!" Allen chimes in, "Filming ourselves being goofballs was a blast. Also, has anyone seen my beer?"
Produced by metal guru Jason Suecof (JOB FOR A COWBOY, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER), The Boiling Sea is a high-octane showcase of the band's evolution. Guitarist Alex Alereza reveals, "Writing this during constant touring with a new vocal duo pushed us into uncharted creative territory – and it was amazing! We had a blast, and we can't wait for you to hear it. Plus, for our longtime fans, we’ve included live recordings of five NEKRO classics!"
